Milestones
While each child is unique and grows, learns and develops at his or her own pace, there are predictable and measurable milestones that provide an indication of each child’s development. Some of these milestones include the following areas:
- Language skills
- Social skills
- Cognitive skills
- Physical skills
Health Management and Maintenance
Regular well visits and vaccinations are essential to maintaining the best health possible for your child.
Toddler Well Visits
Toddlers are generally seen for well visits every 3 months:
- 12 months
- 15 months
- 18 months
- 2 years
What to Expect
Toddler well visits will generally consist of:
- Feeding and appetite changes
- Safety issues: Car seat, home safety (child proofing), poison control awareness
- Temper tantrums and discipline
- Toilet training readiness
- Screening for anemia and lead
Dental Health Awareness
As part of our well visit program we provide dental screening, education and awareness.
Preschooler Well Visits
Once your child reaches age two (2) well visits will be scheduled once a year.
What to Expect
- Healthy feeding and promoting physical activity
- Promoting socialization and school readiness
- Safety: Car seat, injury prevention
- Dental screening and dental home referrals
We also provide the following medical care:
- Lead screening
- Anemia screening
CHADIS Ages & Stages Questionnaires®
We enhance our pediatric care through the use of CHADIS Ages & Stages Questionnaires®, a medical tool used to screen the development of children beginning at 6 months. Through the parent-reporting online questionnaire, specific information is gathered for your child in areas of development including Communication, Gross Motor, Fine Motor, Problem Solving and Personal-Social. Questionnaire results provide Dr. Grace with instant access to valuable clinical data and resources to aid in the diagnosis and management of health, emotional and behavioral issues.
